On Saturday Oct, 07 long time Tuxedo member Maurice Van Walleghem will be honoured by Bowls Manitoba and will receive an award in recognition of his enduring commitment and contribution to bowls in Manitoba. Morris, as he is known, has long been a champion of junior bowls and is famous for his annual fundraising corn roasts. Maurice can be proud of his playing record as well, having won many provincial championships including the men’s fours event upward of 15 times. Manitoba is proud of Maurice and his exemplary record of support and achievement. Many thanks go out to his lovely wife Cecile who is equally loved in our bowls community. Bravo!

According to my records, Maurice joined the Norwood LBC in 1991 and was a member there until 2002 when he moved to the Tuxedo LBC. While a member at Norwood, Maurice was Greens Chair for several years.
