Starting Monday, July 13th you no longer need to inform Noel by email that you are planning to bowl. You may show up when you wish to as we did in previous years.

The times are Monday & Wednesday at 7pm, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday at 10am.

COVID-19 protocols remain in place and you must have paid your membership fee and have signed the waiver to be allowed to bowl.

Looking Forward To Better Times

tuxQ Your Tuxedo LBC Executive has considered the upcoming season – whatever and whenever it is – and has decided to encourage all of our members to remain members! We are asking you to pay a membership fee of $10 for whatever season we have. This allows us to remain a club in good standing with Bowls Manitoba and will cover our insurance if we should manage to bowl at some point. Cheques can be sent to our treasurer Noel @ 582 Rosedale Avenue Winnipeg Mb R3L 1M5. There is also an e-transfer option and his email address is nxjohnson@mymts.net (Tuxedo is the answer to the security question if you choose this option) Please arrange for payment NLT end May.

We encourage our Tuxedo family to take every precaution in this time of serious risk and uncertainty. Look out for one another, and err on the side of safety and good health. We look forward to seeing you all, in good health, at the first opportunity.

2020 Bowls Manitoba Draw Meeting

The Bowls Manitoba annual draw meeting will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 1 pm at Tuxedo Lawn Bowling Club. ALL Bowls MB members are encouraged to attend this meeting where all the competitions and events will be set for this upcoming season.

Upcoming Events

Lunch date – the winter lunches will begin Tuesday, October 29th – 12:30 at the Tuxedo Village Restaurant. If you plan to attend please let Pauline Gale know by Sunday, October 27 so a reservation can be made.

AGM & Wind-Up date – the Tuxedo LBC AGM will be held Saturday, November 9th at 1:30pm. Prior to the meeting at 1pm we will serve pizza & wine (or beer) at no charge (in lieu of prize monies). If you plan to come for pizza please answer this email by Wednesday, November 6th, including your preferred topping (max. 2 toppings).

At the AGM you will elect our 2019/20 Executive. Please contact our Past President – Ed Mulholland – if you are willing to serve on the Executive or wish to nominate a member for a position.

Christmas Party – the party will be held Saturday, December 7th at 5:30 pm. It’s a Pot Luck, as before. We will require one turkey and one ham to be cooked – with reimbursement from the club. A sign-up sheet will be at the AGM or let Sandra know what you will bring if you plan to attend. Please consider volunteering to be part of the Christmas Party Committee – we need some new blood involved – and will ask for volunteers at the AGM. If you cannot attend the AGM but are prepared to help with the Christmas Committee please answer this email.

Our first Tuxedo LBC barbecue for 2019 will be held on Wednesday, June 12 starting at 5:30. The sign-up is available on the white board, as usual. We will have hot dogs, hamburgers or chicken with fixings etc and dessert. The cost remains at $5. We will need volunteers to assist Moira in the kitchen – set up and clean up – be chefs etc. Please sign-up if you are willing to help – the more help the less work per person!! Deadline to sign-up is Monday, June 10th

Opening Day!

Our official club opening will be held on Monday, May 20th – Victoria Day – with bowling at 10 am. Please arrive by 9:45 so that teams can be formed. Bring your lunch – dessert will be provided by the club.
